Stephen Marley to Headline Jo Mersa Marley Eternal Birthday Celebration Concert in Kingston
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Grammy-winning reggae artist Stephen Marley will headline a special tribute concert celebrating the life and legacy of his late son, Jo Mersa Marley, as part of the annual Jo Mersa Marley Eternal Birthday Celebration.
The acoustic tribute event, titled “Old Soul Live Unplugged,” is scheduled for March 14, 2026, at the historic Bob Marley Museum in Kingston, Jamaica. The event will bring together members of the Marley family and reggae supporters for an evening of music, remembrance, and celebration.
Several members of the Marley musical dynasty are expected to perform, including Damian Marley and Julian Marley, along with younger generation artists such as Yohan Marley, Hymn Marley, and Mystic Marley.
Jo Mersa Marley passed away in December 2022, leaving behind a growing musical legacy. Known for blending roots reggae with modern influences, he was widely respected as one of the voices carrying the Marley tradition into a new generation.
Born into reggae royalty as the son of Stephen Marley and grandson of the legendary Bob Marley, Jo Mersa built a reputation as a thoughtful songwriter and vocalist. His releases, including the EP Comfortable, showcased his ability to bridge classic reggae sounds with contemporary production.
The upcoming concert will celebrate Jo Mersa’s birthday while highlighting the enduring influence of the Marley family on global reggae culture.
